Principal's Message 3/20/20
Dear Brooks Families,
The world has changed for all of us in the matter of weeks. On the one hand, I am speechless. On the other, I have so much swirling around in my head. So, forgive me in advance, for the random stream of thoughts…
• Our Brooks Community and Staff is healthy. We are grateful. Thank you for taking care of yourselves and one another. If your family needs anything, I can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org PLEASE let me know if we can support you in any way!
• Teachers have done an unbelievable job engaging and supporting our students during our first ever E-Learning days. We thank you for your understanding and patience as we learn this “new normal” of trying to support learning from afar. Many of our teachers are supporting the learning of 30 students, while navigating the learning of their own children at home.
• A huge SHOUT OUT to parents who have put their lives on hold to assist their children. We are grateful to you and your support!
• Quarter 3 report cards will be posted today AFTER 4:00. If your child is missing a grade or “mark”, we thank you for your patience. It’s been a little challenging addressing omission in the Student Information System, when unable to connect directly with teachers. If your child is missing a grade, email the teacher directly and you will receive the grade. We will correct it in HOA when possible. Thank you for understanding!
MEALS AVAILABLE: Organic Life is offering curbside pick-up of grab and go breakfast and lunch at no cost for all students. The pickup locations are at each elementary school near door 1, between 11 am and 1 pm, Monday through Friday. If your family needs meals, let us know by completing this form.
This meal service is available to ALL of our families. You simply need to complete the form (attached to the link above). If it is more convenient for you to pick up your meal at another school location, you may do so. Please contact me at email@example.com if you have any questions about our meal service and I am happy to assist you!
The Brooks Staff wishes you a restful and enjoyable weekend. In looking at a silver lining, you might find it’s a good time to….
Read a good book with your child
Play a family board game or game of cards
Take a walk or bike ride
Use chalk to write a friendly message on a neighbor’s driveway
Do some “Spring cleaning” or clean out your child’s closet
Pick a favorite family recipe and make dinner together
Have a family dance party (my personal favorite – LOL)
Make a family fort
Play a family game of charades
Send an encouraging note, letter or email to someone who is alone during this time
I’ve always known the Brooks Community is an amazing place and this past week has reconfirmed that. Be Well and we will be ready for next week’s E-Learning Extravaganza!
