The Brain
Topics include the anatomy and physiology of the brain, learning styles,
and multiple-intelligence theories.
Etymology
Students learn that Greek and Latin are the basis of most of our common
language. Educational games help students learn the meanings of root words, affixes, and
combinations.
Voyage of the Mimi
Students join a crew of scientists sailing on a ship off the coast of
New England in pursuit of information about humpback whales. Oceanography and marine biology are studied.

Economics / Stock Market
Students learn about economics through simulations including participation in an activity called The Stock Market Game. Working in teams, students invest a hypothetical $100,000 and make decisions to buy, sell, or hold over a three-month
period. Each student chooses one company for an in-depth study, and presents the research project to the class.
Second Voyage of the Mimi
Students follow the Mimi crew as it travels on adventures throughout Mexicos Yucatan peninsula. Maya culture and archeology are studied.
